What data we collect
- Contact forms: name, email address, phone number (if provided), message content, and technical information sent by your browser when you submit the form.
- Newsletter / marketing signup: if you subscribe, we collect the details required to provide that service (for example email address), processed through our email marketing provider.
- Website analytics: we use self-hosted Umami analytics at analytics.stokesley-hosting.online to understand aggregated usage (such as pages viewed and approximate location derived from IP at a coarse level, depending on configuration). Umami is designed to be privacy-focused.
How we use your data
- To respond to enquiries and provide our services
- To operate and improve our website
- To send marketing communications only where you have opted in
Legal bases (UK GDPR)
- Legitimate interests: operating the website, measuring aggregated traffic, responding to enquiries, and keeping our IT environment secure
- Consent: marketing emails and newsletter subscriptions (where applicable)
- Contract / pre-contract: steps you request before entering into a service agreement
Email marketing (Mailrelay)
If you sign up to marketing communications, we may process your data using Mailrelay (or a successor provider). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in marketing emails.
Form delivery
Website forms may be delivered using a form processing service (for example FormSubmit) to route messages securely to our inbox. That provider processes submissions only to deliver the message to us, in line with their terms and privacy policy.
Cookies and similar technologies
We aim to keep cookies minimal. Analytics may use a small cookie or local storage depending on Umami configuration. Your browser can control cookies through its settings.
Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, including any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, and ordinary business correspondence.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with trusted processors who help us run our business (hosting, email delivery, analytics, marketing automation), strictly under appropriate safeguards.
International transfers
If any processor stores or processes data outside the UK, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses), where required.
Your rights
You may have rights under UK GDPR, including to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction or deletion
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)
To exercise your rights, contact info@stokesleycomputerconsultants.uk. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Future online payments
If we introduce online payments (for example via Stripe), we will update this policy to explain what payment data is processed and by which provider.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
